Other Doggie Services Hydrobathing is not all we do at Howleys Hounds. It's important for your dogs general wellbeing not only to be washed but also to be groomed regularly. Grooming and Clipping Some dogs have problem fur which gets knotted and matted which causes great discomfort, can cause flea infestation and takes a lot of time and effort to control with just hand brushing. Many breeds with longer or thicker fur can benefit greatly from being trimmed or clipped, and taking your dog to a professional grooming salon at regular intervals can be time consuming and expensive. Howleys Hounds can solve this problem for you. Carol will advise on how to tend to problem coats and whether to just trim or to clip the total coat. Many dogs can cope more easily with the summer heat after being clipped. If your dog requires clipping or trimming it can be done in the comfort of your own home and if you have a breed that constantly needs attention it will save you not only money, but your valuable time. Nail Clipping It's vitally important that a dogs claws be checked regularly for damage or problems. Overgrown nails can cause your dog pain, discomfort and in some cases an inability to walk correctly or at all. This can lead onto much more serious health problems in the future. At each Howleys Hounds session a thorough check is done on their claws and if necessary they will be clipped. Some dogs need their nails clipped regularly and this can be done during the hydrobath session or in a separate appointment if required. Flea Control and Prevention Fleas are tough creatures and can be difficult to control. They drive your dog crazy and can be very harmful, especially to pups and younger dogs. Regular hydrobaths with flea prevention treatments go a long way to controlling and preventing fleas but there are also other ways to help in the struggle. Carol can advise you on the different treatments available and also supply you with the most suitable flea prevention products at much cheaper prices than veterinarians or pet shops. Ear Checks Dogs can get seeds or other foreign matter in their ears which can cause long term problems, but everytime your dog has a hydrobath their ears are checked and cleaned. Prevention is always better than cure. If any ear problems persist however it's advisable to consult your vet. |
